The Halton Fruit Tree Project is a volunteer run initiative, and would quickly grind to a halt without the support of all our amazing volunteers. Here is a list of some of the ways in which you can get involved. Please take a look to see where you fit in. No experience necessary - we will provide all training and tools!
Steering Committee, Administration - we would love some help in guiding the development of our programs, updating our harvest database, working on fundraising campaigns and event planning.
Blogging and Social Media - we always need bloggers and tweeters who are interested in providing material relevant to our programs as well as photographers to record our work.
Lead Harvester - responsible for arriving at the harvest before the start time, and staying until all the produce has been sorted and packed. Also responsible for transporting the harvesting equipment to the harvest and dropping the produce off at the end user or storing it at your home until it can be delivered. You will receive notification of all upcoming harvests, and will be able to select those for which you are able to lead.
General Harvester Evenings and Weekends - come out to as many or as few harvests are you are able to, and stay for all or part of each harvest. You will receive notification of all upcoming harvests that take place during the evenings or on weekends. At the harvest you can help to pick, or sort the produce.
General Harvester Weekdays - as with our evening and weekend harvesters you are welcome to come out to as many or as few harvests are you are able to, and stay for all or part of each harvest.
